Corvo crater

Description

The insane scale and beautiful lagoons of Corvo crater, Corvo Island, Azores.

Corvo Island have the smallest population in the whole Azores archipelago (around 400 inhabitants). In fact : It's a pretty small and remote island. It required me many flights (exactly 3 flights from Paris) + 1 boat ride to reach this place.

Fun fact : The island is so small and the weather is so windy during winter, that even tho the temperature conditions and soil fertility are great for vegetables and fruits plantations, the soil is too poluted by sea salt to make planting possible.

According to a local : Almost everything must be imported by boat. There's a boat bringing goods and vegetables/fruits every 1 or 2 weeks. People use to watch webcams to be prepared when it comes. Then, it's a rush, almost a race, to be among the firsts at the harbor.
