Caldera Escondida

Parque Natural de los Volcanes : Walking there was like walking on Mars, with multiple craters, volcanic chimney, lava fields and caves. The surface is covered with black slabs nested on top of each other, like blocks of ice during the breakup of pack ice ! Couldn't resist taking the drone out and capture all the different patterns and colors. The sky was cloudy but it suited the scene pretty well. Every color is coming from a different substance. Red for iron oxyde, yellow for sulfur and black for burned basalt and ashes. This crater is called Caldera Escondida. Lanzarote, Canary islands, April 2023.
