Corona Crater #1

Description

That day, in the afterglow, clouds were flowing in like waves, like a symphony of white. They draped the great crater with a gentle embrace, like a white sunlit blanket 🇪🇦

The story behind this image :

On my last day in Lanzarote, nature decided to show me its crowning piece. I went to the top of the island for sunset, and was surprised to watch one of the most beautiful cloud inversion i've seen ⛅

In the distance I saw the Corona Crater, a huge inactive volcano that I took images off the day before. But it was like the crater was piercing through the cloud base 😳

In the end, I decided to drop my current composition and my current location and drove as close as possible to the crater. Sunset already happened, and I had to make it fast, hoping to catch the last daylight 🏁🏎️

Arrived close enough to the volcano, was almost dark, flew off the drone, took 2 shots, so dark they were 1 second exposure, blended them together to make this final panorama piece you are currently watching 🔥

Lanzarote, Canary islands, April 2023.
