Nomads #1

This is where i spent my first night, at the bank of a huge high altitude lake (3000m) called Song kul lake. This lake is surrounded by big pastures, wild horses, nomad yurts, and beautiful moutains as a backdrop.

You can only reach that place by 4x4 so it was ,again, quite far away ! I really wanted to meet some Kyrgyz nomad, so this is what i did. I found some yurt in the distance and drove towards it, presenting myself to the family the most polite way i could. They where quite happy to invite a french photographer searching for some friends, so i was.

I spent the afternoon playing with the kids, and learning from their nomad way of living. They offered me some food coming straight from their cow herds.

When the sun came low, it was where magic happened.
